NOTVAM #1
GF-TQ6 Configuration in Many
Popular Flight Sims
When first shipped in October of 2003, the GoFlight® GF-TQ6 was
one of the world's first 6-axis USB game controllers. Most
simulator software (including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004) is
not designed to set correct default behavior for a device with this
many axis inputs. This usually results in unexpected aircraft
behavior, and often, a call to tech support! This NOTVAM
explains how to avoid configuration conflicts and provides solid
tips on using your GF-TQ6 to its full potential in several popular
flight sims.

NOTVAM #2
GoFlight® hardware compatibility
with add-on aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator
Having trouble getting your GF-MCP to work with that new add-on
aircraft you just downloaded? In this NOTVAM, we reveal the
source of many compatibility issues between Microsoft Flight
Simulator add-on products -- and specifically with aircraft
autopilots.
Included in this NOTVAM is a complete key mapping solution for
one of today's most popular add-on airliner packages.

Make-your-own MagLabels
GoFlight®
MagLabels are magnetic-backed rectangular labels included with
certain GF-AC cockpit control modules (currently GF-P8, GF-T8,
GF-RP48, and GF-166.) They provide an easy method of labeling
and re-labeling the cockpit control functions that you assign to the
buttons and switches on these modules.
The "Do-it-yourself" MagLabels files in this section are
expanded
versions of the label sets that are shipped from the factory.
Some MagLabels file sets are provided in ready-to-print form.
Others
include templates that make it easy for you to create your own
labels for custom cockpits and third party add-on aircraft.
The ready-to-print graphic images can be printed to an adhesive
paper or plastic label, then applied to magnetic sheeting material.
The labels can then be cut from the sheet using sharp scissors and
placed in the modules' panel indentations..
ARTISTIC sim pilots:
If you have a talent for creating great-looking labels and would
like to share them with your fellow sim pilots, we encourage you to
submit them for posting here. We even have rewards for great
looking art! Contact us at

For Software Developers |
If you are a software developer and would like to include support for GoFlight® technology
in your own products, we want to help. We've put together the GoFlight®
Device SDK (Software
Development Kit) to give you all the information you need. The sample code and
documentation included in the kit shows you how to do things like:
- Detecting GoFlight®
device connections
- Reading data from encoder and switch controls
- Writing messages to
displays
- Controlling brightness of displays and indicators
The GoFlight®
Device SDK includes several pre-built sample programs, along with a full set of project
and source files, ready to build for use with MicrosoftTM
Visual C++ and Visual Basic. These samples enable you to get oriented quickly, then build, run and modify the
samples to your heart's content. The comprehensive, 80+ page programmer's reference
guide makes it easy to familiarize yourself with GoFlight® device programming.
The SDK is free of charge -- simply click here, fill out
the brief form, and download the SDK (version 1.40, 12 Apr, 2002).
GoFlight® is committed to frequently updating and improving this SDK which may include
support for new GoFlight® products, additional computer platforms, new examples, and making
the GoFlight® API more robust and feature-rich.
If you have feedback for us regarding this
kit, or need information that is not covered in the content, please let us know. The best
way is to contact us by e-mail at
